This page is for the publishers, agencies and companies whose reporting or press releases we summarise, and for anyone checking how we credit a source.

What we summarise, and on what basis

We only draw on a fixed, hand-reviewed list of sources with a clear legal basis to do so — an official RSS feed offered by the publisher for syndication, an explicit licence or partnership, or a company's own investor-relations press release. We do not scrape a publisher's site against its wishes: a source that declines an honest, identified request (a 403, a robots.txt disallow) is marked blocked and dropped, not routed around. What we publish from a source

We never republish a full article body. Every card shows our own plain-language summary of what happened, alongside the publisher's name and a link back to the original article. Where a publisher's terms require attribution, that publisher name and outbound link are a fixed, non-optional part of every layout — they are never hidden, shortened away, or made conditional on plan or device.

What a summary is written from

For most sources, the summary is written from the headline and the syndicated snippet we receive. For a small, named set of publishers, our fetcher also reads the article text the publisher themselves publish as machine-readable structured data on the page, so the summary can state what actually happened rather than restating the headline. That text is used only as input to the summariser: it is never stored, never shown, and never republished. If a publisher's robots.txt disallows the page, or their server declines our honest, identified request, we take nothing and fall back to the snippet.

How a summary is produced

Every summary is generated by an AI system (gemini) from that input, under a fixed set of rules that forbid predictions, sentiment or advice — see /legal/disclaimer. Summaries may contain errors; the original article is always linked.
