Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data MarketView24 collects, why, and the rights you have over it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP").

What we collect, and why

• Email, a hashed password, and optionally your name and phone — to create and secure your account.
• Birth year, collected once at signup — to verify you meet the minimum age for this service; see below.
• Your watchlist and language preference — to personalise the feed and choose a UI language.
• Sign-up IP address and a device/browser fingerprint — solely for fraud prevention (detecting abuse of the free trial). This is a purpose we state explicitly here because, unlike the other data above, you don't enter it yourself.
• Product usage events (pages viewed, feed interactions) — to understand what's useful and fix what isn't.

Minors

This service is for adults. We ask for your birth year at signup and refuse to create an account for anyone under 18 — India's DPDP age of digital consent — because we have no verified-parental-consent mechanism and this product runs behavioural analytics, which the law does not permit for a child's data.

Retention

We keep article and account data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, and delete or anonymise it on a schedule after that — raw ingested articles, summarised articles, and analytics events all expire on different clocks. If you delete your account, we hard-delete your personal data within 30 days, keeping only what law requires us to retain (for example, payment records once payments launch).

Your rights

Under the DPDP, you can request access to your data, ask us to correct it, withdraw a consent you previously gave, request erasure of your account and data, or nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you become unable to. If you have an account, the fastest way is Settings → Privacy and data; otherwise use /legal/grievance.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a small cookie to remember your chosen language. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-party processors

We do not sell personal data. The table below is generated from the same processor list our engineering documentation uses internally (docs/DATA_FLOWS.md), so the two cannot drift apart.
